This Date In Padre Baseball - September 10

   THIS DATE IN PADRE BASEBALL

1998 SEASON

Dodgers 4 Padres 3

Kevin Brown (18-6) tossed a complete game, striking out 11 in the loss. A key error by George Arias in the 7th inning led to 4 runs, with only 1 earned, and the Padres couldn't rally to get the victory. A solid performance, with only 3 hits allowed, wasted with another poor offensive display.

The Padres gained a 3 run lead in the 3rd, on a bases loaded single by Wally Joyner to score Steve Finley and Ed Giovanola. Then, with Mark Sweeney at bat, Greg Vaughn stole home! On a double steal with Joyner taking second.
