LANGSTON SHINES IN WIN OVER ROCKS

Ken Caminiti goes 3 for 3 with a double, a homer, and 5 RBI with the big blow being a 3 run homer in the 7th.

Not that Mark Langston (3-1) needed it, pitching a sterling 6 innings of scoreless baseball, striking out 5. Bruce Bochy, taking advantage of the upcoming All-Star break, used Kevin Brown for one inning. And what an inning, striking out all 3 batters he faced, needing only 14 pitches to do so.

Padres racked up 12 hits and collected another 6 walks.
