1998 SEASON
BROWN K'S 10 IN COMPLETE GAME VICTORY
Padres 6 Rockies 2
The Padres scored 2 runs early, thanks to a double from Wally Joyner and a sacrifice fly from Carlos Hernandez. Kevin Brown (11-3) had is typical early inning troubles, but avoided any runs despite allowing 5 hits in the first 2 innings.
But his good luck ran out in the 3rd, allowing 4 more hits leading to 2 runs, and a tied game. In the top of the 4th, Steve Finley blasted a home run to deep right field to score Greg Vaughn and Joyner for a 5-2 lead.
Brown settled down from there, allowing only 3 more hits the rest of the way, striking out 10.
News and Notes - Brown was less concerned about the 12 hits, and more upset by going 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts. "It's Coors Field, I should have put one in the air!"
