Ken Caminiti's 3-run home run sparks a 4 run 7th inning to give Sterling Hitchcock (8-5) plenty of runs to earn the victory. Hitchcock tossed 8 strong innings, allowing 8 hits but only 2 runs, with 1 earned.

Caminiti started the scoring in the first, with a seeing eye single up the middle to score Quilvio Veras from second.

In the 4th inning, a Caminiti error leads to an unearned run, and a brief Brewer lead.

Greg Vaughn's 43rd home run leading off the 6th tied the game at 2, and Greg Myers drove in Wally Joyner to put the Padres ahead for good.





News and Notes - With the trade of Bruske to the Yankees, the bullpen will be a rotating door for AAA.
