Braves 5 Padres 4

3 runs in the first, with a double by Greg Vaughn scoring 2, and then scoring on a single by Mark Sweeney, but Joey Hamilton (10-11) couldn't make it stand, allowing 5 runs in 6 innings.

After the 3 in the first, John Smoltz (12-2) settled down, allowing just one more run across 6 1 /3 , striking out 8.

The Padres could not make any headway against the best bullpen in baseball, with 2 2/3 hitless innings.

I attended with my family, it was great to hear the bells one more time!
