1998 SEASON
PADRES DROP FINALE
PIRATES 3 PADRES 2

Greg Vaughn supplied the limited offense for the Padres tonight, driving in Tony Gwynn and Wally Joyner with a single to center field.

Jason Schmidt (7-1) was just too tough tonight, sprinkling 6 hits over 8 innings, striking out Andy Sheets looking in the 7th with Carlos Hernandez on second with the last real scoring opportunity of the night.

News and Notes -  Kevin Brown was a little wild tonight, although he only walked 1, he hit 2 batters and had a throwing error.
