Traded Pat Dobson and Tom Dukes to the Baltimore Orioles. Received Fred Beene, Enzo Hernandez, Tom Phoebus and Al Severinsen. 

• P Dobson, acquired from the Detroit Tigers via trade in December 1969, appeared in 40 games (34 starts) during the 1970 season, posting a 14-15 record with a 3.76 ERA including 8 complete games, 1 shut out, and 1 save.

• P Kolb, selected by the Padres in the 4th round of the 1995 draft, made his MLB debut as a Padre on May 12, 2000. Appeared in 11 games during the 2000 season, posting a 0-1 record with a 4.50 ERA.
• SS/OF Perez would appear in 43 games during the 2001 season, hitting .198 with 4 RBI. Granted free agency in October 2001.

Signed Geoff Blum as a free agent.

• IF Blum, signed as a free agent in December 2004 and traded to the Chicago White Sox in July 2005, returns for two more seasons. Appeared in 309 games over 3 seasons, hitting .249 with 14 HR and 89 RBI. Granted free agency in October 2007.
