1973

Traded Ron Clark to the Philadelphia Phillies. Received Gene Martin.
  • IF Clark, acquired from the California Angels via trade in June 1973, and appeared only at AAA Hawaii.
  • 1B/LF Martin would only appear at AAA Hawaii before being sold to the Chunichi Dragons in Japan.
1980

Sold Rick Sweet to the New York Mets.
  • C Sweet, selected in the 3rd round of the 1975 draft, and made his MLB debut as a Padre on April 8, 1978. Appeared in 88 games during the 1978 season, hitting .221 with 1 HR and 11 RBI. 

Traded Randy Jones to the New York Mets. Received Jose Moreno and John Pacella.
  • P Jones, selected in the 5th round of the 1972 draft, and made his MLB debut as a Padre on June 16, 1973. Appeared in 264 games (253 starts) over 8 seasons, posting a 92-105 record with a 3.30 ERA including 71 complete games, 18 shut outs and 2 saves. Was selected to the 1975 & 1976 All-Star Game. Finished 10th in the MVP voting in 1975 & 1976. Was 2nd in the 1975 Cy Young Award voting and was the 1976 Cy Young award winner.

1995

Traded Pedro Martinez to the New York Mets. Received Jeff Barry.
  • P Martinez, not that one, signed as a free agent in September 1986 and made his MLB debut as a Padre on June 29, 1993. Traded to the Houston Astros in December 1994. Returned via trade with Houston in October 1995. Overall, appeared in 80 games over 2 seasons, posting a 6-3 record with a 2.73 ERA including 3 saves.
  • OF Barry would appear only at the minor league levels in 1996. Granted free agency in October 1996.
1997

Sean Runyan drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 1997 rule 5 draft.
  • P Runyan, acquired from the Houston Astros via trade in March 1997, appeared only at AA Mobile during the 1997 season.

Traded Steve Hoff, Derrek Lee and Rafael Medina to the Florida Marlins. Received Kevin Brown.
  • P Hoff, selected by the Padre in the 15th round of the 1995 draft, appeared only at the minor league levels, rising to A level Clinton in 1997.
  • 1B Lee, selected in the 1st round of the 1993 draft, made his MLB debut as a Padre on April 28, 1997. Appeared in 22 games during the 1997 season, hitting .259 with 1 HR and 4 RBI.
  • P Medina, acquired from the New York Yankees via trade in April 1997, appeared only at the minor league levels, rising to AAA Las Vegas in 1997.

Traded Brett Tomko to the St. Louis Cardinals. Received a player to be named later and Luther Hackman. 
  • P Tomko, acquired from the Seattle Mariners via trade in December 2001, made 32 starts during the 2002 season, posting a 10-10 record with a 4.49 ERA including 3 complete games. Would later return for 2 more seasons, giving him a Padre career total of 45 games (36 starts) over 3 seasons, posting12-11 record with a 4.41 ERA including 3 complete games.

Alex Pelaez selected by the Anaheim Angels in the 2003 minor league draft.

Traded Rich Thompson to the Kansas City Royals. Received Jason Szuminski and cash.

2017

Traded Enyel De Los Santos to the Philadelphia Phillies. Received Freddy Galvis.
  • P De Los Santos, acquired from the Seattle Mariners via trade in November 2015, appeared only at the minor league levels. Rising to AA San Antonio in 2017.
  • SS Galvis would appear in 162 games during the 2018 season, hitting .248 with 13 HR and 67 RBI. Granted free agency in October 2018.
