Traded Dave Roberts to the Houston Astros. Received Bill Greif, Mark Schaeffer and Derrel Thomas.

• P Roberts, selected from the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 39th pick in the 1968 expansion draft, making his MLB debut as a Padre on July 6, 1969. Appeared in 102 games (60 starts) over 3 seasons, posting a 22-34 record with a 2.99 ERA including 17 complete games, 4 shutouts, and 2 saves. Finished 6th in Cy Young Award voting in 1971.
