• 1B Garvey would go on to appear in 605 games over 5 seasons, hitting .275 with 61 HR and 316 RBI. Selected to the 1984 & 1985 All-Star Game. Finished 20th in the 1984 MVP voting. Granted free agency in November 1987.

Signed Eddie Williams as a free agent.

• 1B/3B Williams would go on to appear in 177 games over 4 seasons, hitting .279 with 26 HR and 96 RBI. Purchased by the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in 1990. Returned as a free agent in December 1993 and granted free agency in December 1995. Signed again as a free agent in January 1998 and released in September 1998.

• P Oquist would go on to appear in 8 games during the 1996 season, posting no record with a 2.35 ERA. Granted free agency in October 1996.

Willie Blair granted Free Agency.

• 1B/3B Magadan would go on to appear in 302 games over 3 seasons, hitting .268 with 5 HR and 63 RBI. Granted free agency in November 2001.

James Mouton granted Free Agency.

• OF Mouton, acquired from the Houston Astros via trade in January 1998, appeared in 55 games during the 1998 season, hitting .190 with 7 RBI.

2003

Mike Matthews granted Free Agency.

• P Matthews, selected off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers in March, appeared in 77 games during the 2003 season, posting a 6-4 record with a 4.45 ERA 

Miguel Ojeda granted Free Agency.

• 1B Sears, acquired from the Minnesota Twins via trade in September, appeared in 9 games during the 2003 season, hitting .250.

Brian Sweeney granted Free Agency.

• P Sweeney, acquired from the Seattle Mariners via trade in January, and would later return as a free agent in 2006, being granted free agency after the season. Overall, appeared in 44 games (2 starts) over 2 seasons, posting a 3-0 record with a 3.69 ERA.

2005

Craig Breslow granted Free Agency.

• P Breslow, signed as a free agent in March, made his MLB debut as a Padre on July 23, 2005. Appeared in 14 games during the 2005 season, posting no record with a 2.20 ERA.

Miguel Olivo granted Free Agency.

• C Olivo, acquired from the Seattle Mariners via trade in July, appeared in 37 games during the 2005 season, hitting .304 with 4 HR and 16 RBI.

• OF DaVanon would not appear at any level before his release in March 2008.

Signed Robert Fick as a free agent.

• 1B/RF/C Fick would not appear at any level this time around with the Padres. Previously with the team from 2004-2005. Appeared in 106 games over 2 seasons, hitting .260 with 3 HR and 30 RBI. Fick would retire in 2008.

Purchased Dusty Ryan from the Detroit Tigers.

• C Ryan would appear only at AAA Portland during the 2010 season. Granted free agency in November 2010.

2010

Signed Leonel Campos as an amateur free agent.

• P Campos would go on to make his MLB debut as a Padre on September 3, 2014. Appeared in 25 games over 2 seasons, posting a 1-0 record with a 5.70 ERA. Selected by the Toronto Blue Jays off waivers.

Purchased Rob Johnson from the Seattle Mariners.

• C Johnson would go on to appear in 67 games during the 2011 season, hitting .190 with 3 HR and 16 RBI.

2011

Traded Luis Martinez to the Texas Rangers. Received Ryan Kelly.

• C Martinez, selected in the 12th round of the 2007 draft, made his MLB debut as a Padre on July 15, 2011. Appeared in 22 games during the 2011 season, hitting .203 with 1 HR and 10 RBI.
• P Kelly would only appear at the minor league levels and be granted free agency in November 2013.

2012

Signed Cody Ransom as a free agent.

• IF Ransom would appear in 5 games during the 2013 season going hitless in 11 at bats. Selected off waivers by the Chicago Cubs in April 2013.

2015

Signed Buddy Baumann as a free agent.

• P Baumann would make his MLB debut as a Padre on July 16, 2016, and go on to appear in 35 games over 3 seasons, posting a 3-2 record with a 3.58 ERA.

2016

Signed Craig Stammen as a free agent.

• P Stammen would go on to appear in 233 games over 4 seasons, posting a 22-15 record with a 3.29 ERA including 4 saves.
