Traded Derek Bell, Doug Brocail, Ricky Gutierrez, Pedro Martinez, Phil Plantier and Craig Shipley to the Houston Astros. Received a player to be named later, Ken Caminiti, Andujar Cedeno, Steve Finley, Roberto Petagine and Brian Williams.
- OF Bell, acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays via trade in March 1993, appeared in 258 games over 2 seasons, hitting .284 with 35 HR and 126 RBI.
