NLCS Game 2 -  Padres 3 Braves 0 (Padres lead series 2-0)

Kevin Brown did Kevin Brown things to the Braves to lead the Padres to a surprising 2-0 series lead. Brown pitched a 3 hit complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts.

Scoreless through 5 innings, the Padres finally broke through against Tom Glavine, with consecutive 2-out singles by Chris Gomez, Kevin Brown, and Quilvio Veras to score Gomez, but Brown was thrown out at 3rd base to end the inning.

With just a one run lead, Brown hunkered down and just one hit on a dribbler down the third base line in the 8th.

In the top of the 9th, the Padres added 2 insurance runs on singles by Steve Finley and Wally Joyner to make the final score 3-0.

The Padres are swept out of the 2005 playoffs, with the loss at Petco Park. The Cardinals pounced on Woody Williams for 5 runs in 2 innings, and the offense couldn't bring enough runs to survive to a game 4.
