Traded Tom Tellmann to the Milwaukee Brewers. Received Tim Cook (minors) and Weldon Swift (minors).

• P Tellmann, selected in the 11th round of the 1976 draft, made his MLB debut as a Padre on June 9, 1979, and appeared in 7 games (2 starts) over 2 seasons, posting a 3-0 record with a 3.24 ERA including 1 save.
• P Cook would pitch in the minors for 2 seasons before his release after the 1984 season.
• P Swift would pitch in the minors for only the 1983 season and be released in November 1983.
