1979

Signed Steve Brye as a free agent.

• OF Brye would go on to appear only at AAA Hawaii during the 1979 season. Retired in October.

1985

Traded Fritzie Connally to the Baltimore Orioles. Received Victor Rodriguez.

• 3B Connally, acquired from the Chicago Cubs via trade in December 1983, appeared only at AAA Las Vegas during the 1984 season.
• 2B/3B Rodriguez would go on to appear only at AAA Las Vegas during the 1985 season. Granted free agency in November.

1991

The San Diego Padres sent Mike Humphreys to the New York Yankees to complete the trade of December 3, 1990.

• OF Humphreys selected by the Padres in the 15th round of the 1988 draft, appeared only at the minor league levels, rising to AAA Las Vegas in 1990. 

1997

Signed Stan Spencer as a free agent.

• P Spencer would go on to make his MLB debut as a Padre on August 27, 1998. Appeared in 23 games (21 starts) over 3 seasons, posting a 3-9 record with a 5.54 ERA.  Released in October 2001.

2007

Signed Shawn Wooten as a free agent.

• 1B Wooten would go on to appear only at the minor league levels and be granted free agency in November 2008.

2014

Signed Tony Sipp as a free agent.

• P Sipp would go on to appear only at AAA El Paso during the 2014 season and be released in May.
