      Transactions of February 17


1992

Traded Steve Martin and Jim Lewis to the Baltimore Orioles. Received Tom Martin and Craig Worthington.
  • 3B/SS Martin, selected by the Padres in the 16th round of the 1989 draft, rose to A High Desert in 1991. Returned in 1992, then released in 1993.
  • P Lewis, selected by the Padres in the 5th round of the 1985 draft, made his MLB debut as a Padre on August 9, 1991. Appeared in 12 games during the 1991 season, posting no record with a 4.15 ERA. 
  • P Martin would only appear at the minor league levels, rising to A level Rancho Cucamonga in 1993. Selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 1993 minor league draft.
  • 3B Worthington would not appear at any level and be released in March.

2003

Signed Jose Nunez as a free agent.
  • P Nunez re-signed with the Padres for the 2003 season after being selected off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2001. Appeared in 57 games over 2 seasons, posting a 4-1 record with a 3.25 ERA. Granted free agency in October.
2009

Signed Emil Brown as a free agent.
  • OF Brown returns to the Padres, but would only appear at AAA Portland during the 2009 season. Previously appeared in 13 games during the 2001 season, going 1 for 14.
2019

Signed Aaron Loup as a free agent.
  • P Loup would go on to appear in 4 games during the 2019 season, posting no record with a 0.00 ERA in 3.1 innings. Granted free agency in October.

Signed Paco Rodriguez as a free agent.
  • P Rodriguez would go on to appear only at the minor league levels during the 2019 season. Granted free agency in November.
