1976

Released Bobby Tolan.
  • OF/1B Tolan, acquired from the Cincinnati Reds via trade in November 1973, appeared in 252 games over 2 seasons. He would later return as a free agent in July 1979 and be released in October 1979. Overall he would appear in 264 games over 3 seasons, hitting .258 with 13 HR and 85 RBI.

1988

Traded Rich Gossage and Ray Hayward to the Chicago Cubs. Received Mike Brumley and Keith Moreland.
  • P Gossage, signed as a free agent in January 1984, appeared in 197 games over 4 seasons, posting a 25-20 record with a 2.99 ERA including 83 saves. Selected to the 1984 and 1985 All-Star Game. In 1984, finished 5th in the NL Cy Young award and 13th for the NL MVP.

  • P Hayward, selected by the Padres in the 1st round of the 1983 draft, made his MLB debut as a Padre on September 20, 1986. Appeared in 7 games (3 starts) over 2 seasons, posting a 0-2 record with a 11.81 ERA.
  • IF Brumley would appear only at AAA Las Vegas during the 1988 season. Traded to the Detroit Tigers in March 1989.
  • RF/3B/C Moreland would go on to appear in 143 games during the 1988 season, hitting .256 with 5 HR and 64 RBI. Traded to the Detroit Tigers in October.
1993

Signed Joe Strong as a free agent.
  • P Strong would only appear at the minor league levels during the 1993 season and be released in September.
2020

Selected Breyvic Valera off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays.
  • 2B/SS Valera would not appear at any level during the 2020 season and be selected off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays in July.
