1997

Traded Joey Eischen to the Cincinnati Reds. Received a player to be named later. 

• P Eischen, acquired from the Detroit Tigers via trade in December 1996, did not appear at any level for the Padres.

Traded Luis Lopez to the Houston Astros. Received Sean Runyan.

• SS/2B Lopez , signed as an amateur free agent in September 1987, made his MLB debut as a Padre on September 7, 1993. Appeared in 157 games over 3 seasons, hitting .228 with 4 HR and 32 RBI.
• P Runyan would go on to appear only at AA Mobile during the 1997 season. Selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 1997 Rule 5 draft.

2009

Signed Duaner Sanchez as a free agent.

• P Sanchez would go on to appear in 12 games during the 2009 season, posting a 1-1 record with a 9.00 ERA. Released in May.
