1975

 The California Angels sent Rudy Meoli to the San Diego Padres to complete the trade of September 17th.

• IF Meoli would be traded to the Cincinnati Reds in April 1976 without playing a game for the Padres at any level.  

1985

Signed Carlos Baerga as an amateur free agent.

• 2B Baerga would be traded to the Cleveland Indians in December 1989, appearing only at the minor league levels. Would sign as a free agent in June 1999 and be purchased by the Cleveland Indians in August 1999. Appeared in 33 games during the 1999 season, hitting .250 with 2 HR and 5 RBI.

1996

Signed Chris Jones as a free agent.

• OF Jones would appear in 92 games during the 1997 season, hitting .243 with 7 HR and 25 RBI. Granted free agency in October 1997

Signed Terry Shumpert as a free agent.

• 2B/LF Shumpert would appear in 13 games during the 1997 season, hitting .273 with 1 HR and 6 RBI. Released on August 5, 1997. 

1999

Signed Vicente Palacios as a free agent.

• P Palacios would appear in 7 games during the 2000 season, posting a 0-1 record with a 6.75 ERA. Released in August 2000.

2005

Traded Brian Lawrence and cash to the Washington Nationals. Received Vinny Castilla.

• P Lawrence, selected by the Padres in the 17th round of the 1998 draft, making his MLB debut as a Padre on April 15, 2001 and would appear in 162 games (146 starts) over 5 seasons, posting a 49-61 record with a 4.10 ERA including 7 complete games and 3 shutouts.
