1989

Released Don Schulze.

• P Schulze acquired from the New York Yankees via trade in July 1989, appeared in 7 games (4 starts) during the 1989 season, posting a 2-1 record with a 5.55 ERA.

1995

Signed Riccardo Ingram as a free agent.

• LF Ingram would spend the 1996 season at AAA Las Vegas and then retire.

1998

Signed Matt Whiteside as a free agent.

• P Whiteside would go on to appear in 38 games over 2 seasons, posting a 3-3 record with a 6.38 ERA. Granted free agency in October 2000.

2001

Released David Lee.

• P Lee, acquired from the New York Yankees via trade in March, appeared in 41 games during the 2001 season, posting a 1-0 record with a 3.70 ERA.

2005

Signed Geoff Blum as a free agent.

• IF Blum, acquired from the Chicago White Sox via trade in July, would appear in 309 games over 3 seasons, hitting .249 with 14 HR and 89 RBI. Granted free agency in October 2007.

2011

Released Alberto Gonzalez.

• IF Gonzalez, acquired from the Washington Nationals via trade in March, appeared in 102 games during the 2011 season, hitting .215 with 1 HR and 32 RBI. Would sign in 2014 and play only at AAA El Paso.

2012

Traded Andy Parrino and Andrew Werner to the Oakland Athletics. Received A.J. Kirby-Jones (minors) and Tyson Ross.

• IF Parrino, selected in the 26th round of the 2007 draft, made his MLB debut as a Padre on August 26, 2011. Appeared in 79 games over 2 seasons, hitting .200 with 1 HR and 10 RBI.
• P Werner, signed as an amateur free agent in October 2010, made his MLB debut as a Padre on August 22, 2012. Made 8 starts during the 2012 season, posting a 2-3 record with a 5.58 ERA.
• 1B Kirby-Jones would appear only at the minor league levels and be released after the 2013 season.
• P Ross would appear in 122 games (108 starts) over 5 seasons, posting a 32-44 record with a 3.40 ERA including 3 complete games and 1 shut out. Selected to the 2014 All-Star game. Granted free agency in December 2016. Signed again in December 2017 for half a season, selected off waivers by the St. Louis Cardinals in August 2018.
