Signed Mandy Romero as a free agent.

• C Romero would make his MLB debut as a Padre on July 15, 1997. Appeared in 27 games over 2 seasons, hitting .175 with 2 HR and 4 RBI. Traded to the Boston Red Sox in June 1998.

1997

Signed Greg Myers as a free agent.

• C Myers would go on to appear in 119 games over 2 seasons, hitting .264 with 7 HR and 35 RBI. Traded to the Atlanta Braves in July 1999.

Released Rich Batchelor.

• P Batchelor, acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals via trade in June 1997, appeared in 13 games during the 1997 season, posting a 2-0 record with a 7.82 ERA.

2003

Signed Brian Hunter as a free agent.

• CF Hunter would not appear at any level of the Padre organization and be traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in March 2004.

2007

Signed Edgar Gonzalez as a free agent.

• 2B/RF Gonzalez would make his MLB debut as a Padre on May 12, 2008 and go on to appear in 193 games over 2 seasons, hitting .255 with 11 HR and 51 RBI. Granted free agency in November 2009.

2009

Selected Radhames Liz off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles.

• P Liz would appear only at AAA Portland in 2010. Released in January 2011.

2013

Traded Brad Brach to the Baltimore Orioles. Received Devin Jones (minors).

• P Brach, selected by the Padres in the 42nd round of the 2008 draft, made his MLB debut as a Padre on August 31, 2011. Appeared in 109 games over 3 seasons, posting a 3-6 record with a 3.70 ERA.
• P Jones would spend the 2014 season at AA San Antonio and be released after the season.

Traded Jaff Decker and Miles Mikolas to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Received Alex Dickerson.
